ESP32 Spy Gadgets: 8 Secret Agent Projects for Teens
You’ve watched the movies. You know the drill. Secret gadgets, silent alarms, covert communications. The difference between you and James Bond is that Bond has a Q who builds his gear — you’re going to be your own Q.
This guide covers 8 real, working spy gadgets you can build with an ESP32 for under $50 total. Motion alarms, hidden cameras, encrypted messaging, night vision, laser tripwires — the full toolkit. No experience required. Just curiosity and a willingness to do something more interesting than scrolling your phone.
Before we start: All these projects are designed for YOUR space — your room, your desk, your stuff. Using cameras or microphones to spy on people without their knowledge is illegal in most places and always wrong. Use these for fun, for learning, and to protect your stuff. Be a cool spy, not a creepy one.
Let’s build your kit.
